We are excited to announce our October Care Homes of the Month.
Our October 2019 Winners
Wimborne Lodge – Hampshire
So welcoming, the activities coordinator was very enthusiastic and participated well with residents. Lots of connections with residents and responses. Brilliant this month in suggesting songs from Julie Andrews’ musical films. Both happen to be Barchester!’ Kathryn Tarrant
Sidmouth Nursing Home – Devon
‘The whole team went over and above to make the Last Night of the Proms session a memorable and enjoyable one for the residents. The lounge was transformed into The Royal Albert Hall with flags everywhere for the occasion and drinks and cakes were served at the end. Every single resident was engaged with varying levels of capacity and the staff were ALL involved from start to finish including the manager. We were delighted to be joined by a very good friend, who sang the finale in the full Britannaia regalia which everyone of course loved. I went in today and it is still being talked about! It really was a very, very special afternoon and one that we will look back on very fondly for many years to come.’ Kate Grant
Grassington House – Dorset
‘The staff were amazing. It was so homely. They had a dog and were all sat in the conservatory. The staff really got into it and also introduced me to each resident which was really nice.” Josh Elliott
Glebe House – Bath & Bristol
‘They’re fantastic and the staff were way more interactive with the residents, its so lovely to see! ‘ Claire Hamlen
Ty Nant Care Home – Wales
‘This month I’d like to nominate Ty Nant. The Staff were really encouraging the residents, and there was a real ‘Glow moment’ when a particular resident suddenly joined in and began singing along to the Beetles. Everyone in the room recognised how special that was.’ Gary Ryland
Marriott Lodge – West Sussex
‘Very supportive and enthusiastic. Take part and always with a smile. A lot of person centred activities for all’. Kathryn Tarrant
About Care Home of the Month

The team evaluate individual strengths accordingly to the five criteria points mentioned above and choose one care home to win the award in each territory per month.
