We’re working collaboratively with BBC Music Day to help bring music to everyone in the UK living with dementia by 2020, using BBC Music Day as a platform
The fifth BBC Music Day takes place on Thursday 26th September with events and broadcasts across the week. The theme this year is music and well-being; the power of music to inspire, to bring us together and make a positive impact.
With its focus on music & well-being, BBC Music Day 2019 will kick start its initiaitve to help bring music to everyone living with dementia by 2020, working with all major organisations in this field. The latest version of the groundbreaking website BBC Music Memories will be released alongside a brand new digital tool, BBC Memory Radio. Find out more on the Music and Dementia page, and the Music Memories and BBC Memory Radio page.
Our meaningful music workshops use music as a tool for reminiscence and include a variety of activities such as movement to music; singing; percussion playing; quizzes and live music performances. Our workshops are designed to engage and stimulate, increase self-esteem and improve overall well-being. The key ingredient is to achieve this by making it fun!
