We are excited to announce our December Care Homes of the Month.
Our December 2019 Winners
Dorset – Gracewell, Weymouth
Had a great couple of sessions, the last was exceptional, had some different staff in that they were fantastic and I got invited to do my first one to one, as soon as I’d finished one room another carer approached me and asked if I could for another gentleman that was bed bound. Just generally really thoughtful staff. Josh Elliott
Wiltshire –Athelstan House
My sessions are always very well attended and there are an increasing number of care staff, volunteers and visitors who all get involved in the sessions. In our November session, two of the carers did a lovely dance with a couple of umbrellas to ‘Singing in the Rain. Seeing everyone enjoying themselves together is an absolute joy. Karen Watts
Somerset – Sunnyside Residental Home, Aiveda
Sunnyside was lovely. A great atmosphere and the carers obviously loved their residents. Everyone got involved and made the session really memorable! Hilary Grabham
Devon – Rose Lawn
Recently retained their CQC Outstanding rating. We’re always made to feel so welcome and it’s always great to see everyone. They had a great session in November. There were some fabulous “She’ll Be Coming Round the Mountain” verse suggestions and it was lovely to have some visitors joining in as well! Everyone was very in to the Bonfire Bingo – it was all very tense. Kate Grant
West Sussex – Aronel Cottage
Always welcoming. Both staff and visitors join in the sessions and music is a big part of their routine. If you don’t have one for Hampshire, may I suggest Downs House in Petersfield. I have one last session with them on Christmas Eve but they definitely deserve nomination. Very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and always a pleasure to work with. Do a lot of music with residents. Kathryn Tarrant
Bath & Bristol – Griffiths House
It was great this month, so much laughter and guests and staff all joined in too! Ant Miles
Wales – Jah-Jireh
The residents and carers were fabulous. Everyone got involved and joined in with the music. Lots of singing, clapping and shaking! Ragsy
Hampshire – Hatch Mill
Staff are always very welcoming and residents are always upbeat and happy to get involved.
About Care Home of the Month
