Musica is a music and health consultancy with a clear objective to harmonise healthcare by embedding music into the dementia care plan journey. Founded in 2010, we have a professional reputation across the UK for delivering successful music interventions. We are proud to be a corporate partner of the Alzheimer’s Society, and a National Dementia Action Alliance Member.
Musica is so much more than ‘entertainment’, we work in a responsive, participant-led way which makes us very unique. We have won several awards specifically for our approach, and are immensely proud of our partnership working within the healthcare sector.
We have delivered a number of projects over the years, with Somerset Carer’s Music and Memories project being our most notable. We have also won and been shortlisted for many awards including Theo Paphitis’ Small Business Sunday winner, which allows us access to an exclusive annual business event hosted by Theo Paphitis, as well as support from previous winners.
A well-trained Musica Coordinator knows how to use the right techniques at the right time to get the most from every session. Learn more about our approach, and find your local Musica Coordinator today.

NEW CAMPAIGN 2019#justonehour
#justonehour is a dementia-specific pledge campaign designed around Professor Clive Ballard’s research, from the University of Exeter which champions the need for meaningful social interaction within care homes.
My mission has been to make quality musical interventions affordable and available to anyone who strives to create a fulfilling environment for their residents. I am delighted to be on Natwest’s 2018 WISE (Women in Social Enterprise) list, recognising the most inspiring and influential women in social enterprise.
for a united future
As a client-centric business, we've built partnerships with some of the world's leading care providers over the last decade. Our passion for sharing meaningful music activities is just one reason why we are one of the UK's leading music and dementia providers. But don't take our word for it, here's what our clients have to say...
“Musica workshops are brilliant! Before Claire starts the session she sits down and talks to the residents and shows them what she will be doing. It makes a big difference, nearly every resident joins in. Musica is one of the best sessions we have had for resident involvement.”
“I wanted to say a huge thank you for everything. It was great to see the difference and joy that your Musica workshop and energy brought to mum and many other residents at Cary Brook this week. It was clear that it was appreciated and enjoyed by all staff and visitors included. A great choice of music that brought memories flooding back, as well as accompanied by your great voice and engaging quiz. Pity it could not be more frequent!”
Piers Simpkin, Carybrook
“Due to residents disabilities it is often difficult for them to read or talk but music reaches the areas of the brain they can’t normally access. With our dementia residents they recognised the music and found the words to speak. Music is deeply rooted in peoples being!”
